PE Lesson Expectations

  • PE lessons will take place inside the academy sports hall, as well as outside on the playground and MUGA.
  • It is the Oasis PE policy that children will be expected to be outside in all forms of weather during their PE lessons, as sport and physical activity often continues irrespective of the weather.
  • This means children will need to be prepared to do their PE lessons in hot, cold and wet weather.
  • Children’s safety and welfare will always be prioritised and if the weather becomes too hot/cold/wet, alternative plans will be made.
  • Children will be expected to participate in every PE lessons as per their right to access the curriculum. If children have significant injury, illness or a medical condition that prevents them from physically participating in a PE lesson, this must be communicated by their parent or carer via email to pe@oasismarksburyroad.org – Verbal communication from the child is not appropriate.
  • If your child had/has an injury/illness or medical condition that prevents or has prevented them from physically participating, please could we kindly ask you to email pe@oasismarksburyroad.org with regular updates of their situation, we want to support every child in their PE journey in any way that we can.
  • All children who are unable to physically participate in a lesson due to illness/injury or a medical condition will still be expected to engage with the lesson via an alternate role such as score keeping, evidence gathering, peer support or ‘mini teaching’.

For swimming lessons to successfully and safely take place, we require parent/adult volunteers to assist with the supervision of the children every week. Without these volunteers the swimming cannot take place.
