We’re delighted to have joined Mr Motivator for this event together with Oasis, The Children’s Society and Applause for Thought (which supports people working in the arts). The event took place between 10-14 May 2021.
Every class rehearsed a dance/fitness routine that was 10 minutes long and then all children came to school on the Friday dressed in their active clothes -along with a donation of £1 to support the great causes! Every class logged on to a livestream event with Mr Motivator and did the routine together, with all the other participating schools, in a record attempt for the most people performing a fitness routine!
Body and Soul has three aims:
- To get everybody motivated as the last Covid restrictions are relaxed on 17th May and life goes back to some kind of normal.
- To raise funds for the work supporting young people’s mental health.
- To make a record attempt for most people performing a fitness routine.
More information about the Body and Suol event and a link to make a donation can be found here https://bodyandsoul.org.uk/

Our high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. Oasis Academy Marksbury Road will provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities enable pupils to build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect. For more information read our PE Statement of Intent document below.
"They will take part in sports and activities that will allow them to develop flexibility, strength, technique, control, balance and perform dances using a range of movement patterns. There will be an emphasis on outdoor and adventurous activity challenges both individually and within a team. Pupils will be encouraged to compare their performances with previous ones and demonstrate improvement to achieve their personal best."
