Public Consultation: Proposal to Open a Nursery
PUBLIC CONSULTATION:
OASIS ACADEMY MARKSBURY ROAD – PROPOSAL TO OPEN A NURSERY FOR 2-4 YEAR OLDS
Oasis Academy Marksbury Road is an all-inclusive academy driven by a powerful ethos aspiring to treat everyone equally whilst delivering a holistic education. Our academy is part of a large family of primary, secondary and all-through academies across England.
The purpose of this consultation is to ensure transparency and openness on the contents of a proposal and allow parents, carers and other interested stakeholders to make a representation that will be considered as part of the determination of the proposal.
Proposal
The academy proposes to establish a nursery, initially accommodating children aged 3 to 4. In the subsequent academic year, the provision would be extended to include children aged 2 to 3. Currently, the academy’s lower age limit is 4 years old; however, this would be amended to 2 years old upon the nursery’s opening.
The main benefits of this proposal are:
1. Opening a nursery within the academy gives children a gentle and familiar start to their school journey, helping them settle quickly and confidently into the learning environment they’ll grow with over the years. It also allows families to build strong relationships with staff and the wider school community from the very beginning.
2. Having a nursery on-site makes life easier for families, offering a trusted, consistent setting for siblings and reducing the need to move between different providers. It also means children benefit from early support and a smooth transition into reception and beyond, giving them the best possible start.

Consultation
This consultation will run from Monday 13th October 2025 to Friday 7th November 2025. We will be holding an information event session on 5th November 2025 at 4pm at Oasis Academy Marksbury Road. We kindly invite you to attend should you wish to share your thoughts with us.
