Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

How to Apply

We are delighted you are thinking about joining the OAMR Family!

Here at Oasis Academy Marksbury Road it is our mission to support your child on their path to success. We believe each and every one of our young people is capable of reaching their potential with the support of the academy, family and friends.

Our staff are dedicated to the highest quality of teaching, no mater what your starting point is. We get to know our students and do our best to tailor our lessons to suit each and every one of them - whether they need a little extra support or a bit more challenge! This is reflected in our academy results as our progress scores continue to be above average each year, and end of phase results very strong.

We are proud to be a non-selective Academy open to pupils of all religious faiths and those of no faith, and welcome admissions enquiries and applications from all. Please see our Why Choose Us? page for more information about our academy.

"The school's motto, 'building and achieving brilliance', permeates all aspects of its work. As a result, pupils thrive and their achievements are outstanding."

Ofsted 2018

Primary Admissions for Reception children

If you are a Parent or Carer and wish to apply for a place in Reception at Oasis Academy Marksbury Road for the following September you will need to complete the Common Application Form via the Bristol City Council Website

For information about the application process, oversubscription criteria, tie break procedures, waiting list, appeals and more, please see our Admissions Arrangements for the academic year you would like to apply for.

The process of allocating places will begin after the deadline for applications, the deadline can be found on Bristol City Council's admissions website.

In-Year Admissions for Years 1-6

Pupils usually start school at the start of the school year in September. Sometimes your child will need to start or change school after this because:

  • You move house, either within or into Bristol.
  • You want your child to change schools for other reasons.

We are happy to meet with prospective parents wishing to join our academy mid year to discuss the process and capacity at the academy. If you would like more information or are interesting in your child starting at our school, please contact our academy office.

Consulting on Admissions Arrangements 2023-24

Consultation took place between 01/12/2021 and 12/01/2022 on the proposed admission arrangements for 2023-24, for which there will be no change to the academy's planned admissions number (PAN). Consultation included publishing our proposed admissions arrangements, and emails were written and distributed to parents/carers, students, staff, local schools, local community groups, and Bristol City Council’s Admissions authority. There were no objections received following consultation and the proposed arrangements for 2023-24 have now been formally determined by the Oasis Community Learning Board.
