Mini Olympics 2026

Due to the extreme heat forecast for Thursday 25th June, we have made the decision to postpone Sports Day. We appreciate that this follows the earlier cancellation caused by poor weather, and we understand how disappointing and inconveniencing this will be. However, the safety and wellbeing of the children, staff and spectators must come first.

We have put alternative arrangements in place:

Reception

Reception will have their Sports Day rescheduled, and parents/carers will be invited to attend. It will be on site at OAMR on Friday 17th July (1:50 – 3:10pm).

Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4

These year groups will also have a Sports Day event, but due to space, staffing and heat‑management considerations, it will need to take place on the school site during the school day without parent attendance. We will ensure the children enjoy a full and positive experience. It will take place on their scheduled PE day in the week of 6th – 10th July.

Year 5 and Year 6

Year 5 and 6 Sports Day will take place at Broad Plain Rugby Club on Friday 17th July, 9:30am – 11:30am. Parents/carers are invited to attend.
